Privacy Policy

ChatPaper ("we", "our", "the extension") is a browser extension that exports the current web page or AI chat conversation to a PDF, and this website (chatpaper-website-updated.vercel.app) where you can learn about and manage your ChatPaper plan.

What the extension does with your data

ChatPaper does not collect, store, or transmit any of the content you export. When you click the export button, the extension builds the PDF entirely inside your browser using the browser's own print pipeline. Nothing about the page you're exporting — its text, images, or URL — is sent to ChatPaper's servers or to any third party. We have no server that ever receives your chat or page content.

The extension requests broad host permissions (access to the pages you visit) because it needs to read the content of whichever page you choose to export, on whichever site you're on. That access is used only at the moment you click export, only on the tab you're using, and only to build the PDF locally.

What this website collects

If you create an account on this site — by email and password, or by continuing with Google — we collect the email address you provide (and, if you use Google sign-in, the basic profile info Google shares, such as your name) so we can authenticate you and manage your account and plan. This is currently handled through Supabase, our authentication and database provider — see Supabase's privacy policy for how they process and store this data on our behalf.

If you purchase a paid plan, payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not receive or store your card, UPI, or bank details — Razorpay handles that directly. See Razorpay's privacy policy for details.

This site does not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. [Update this section if you add any — e.g. Google Analytics — since that changes what you must disclose here.]

Data retention

We keep account and billing contact details for as long as your account is active, and as needed to comply with tax and accounting requirements.

Your choices

You can uninstall the extension at any time from your browser's extensions page, which immediately stops all access. To delete your account or signup data, email us at the address below.

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
